Let’s take a look at what the latest mock drafts are giving to the Kansas City Chiefs.

For some teams, the direction taken in the first round of the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft is largely a given. After all, bad teams are bad for a reason, which means a lot of them will likely select a quarterback when it’s time to turn in the draft card. As for the Kansas City Chiefs? Nearly anything goes.

Yes, the Chiefs have definite roster needs, but they also just won a Super Bowl, their second in four seasons, with those same issues. Even those that might arise in the future will be offset by the riches of having Patrick Mahomes under center and Andy Reid on the sideline. Add to that a bright young roster that will only get better and the Chiefs can honestly afford to go anywhere from a foundational lineman to a luxury skill player.

Still, that hasn’t stopped draft analysts from making their choices in largely two categories for the Chiefs when it comes to their own attempts to guess who the Chiefs will take. Most mock drafts have the Chiefs landing a big target for Mahomes in the first round or finding a long-term pass-rushing compliment to last year’s first-round pick George Karlaftis.

Let’s go through the latest survey of mock drafts to see who is linked to Kansas City and what we think of each pick—including a potential trade up in the first.
