Jackson Mahomes is under police investigation for allegedly assaulting a bar owner and waiter
Kansas City police are investigating Jackson Mahomes, the brother of Kansas City Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes, for allegedly sexually assaulting a local bar owner and for shoving a waiter at an Overland Park establishment.
The news comes from the Kansas City Star. The bar owner, Aspen Vaughn, accuses Mahomes of forcibly kissing her in her office at around 10:00 PM on February 25th.
Aspen is quoted in the Star article:
"“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” Vaughn said, “and I’m telling him, pushing him off saying ‘what are you doing?’ and then he proceeded to do it two more times where the last time I was pushing him off and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”"
The Star article outlines that Jackson Mahomes is a regular at Aspen’s establishment and that he is friends with her step-daughter, who also works at the bar. Aspen goes on to mention that Mahomes visits are sometimes unpleasant and that during those times he treats the staff poorly.
On this night, Mahomes and his entourage ended up in the bar’s basement office. At some point, the 19-year-old-waiter waiter tried to enter the office to retrieve his water bottle at which point Mahomes shoved him.
"“I was going into our office downstairs where the employees are in the employee area, and he’s downstairs for I don’t know what reason,” the waiter said, “and I’m trying to get to the office, and he’s like, pushing me out. …And he’s like, No, get out, get out.”"
After hearing about the incident, Vaughn went to the office to address it with Mahomes and that is when he allegedly assaulted her by grabbing her head and repeatedly trying to kiss her. As Vaughn told The Star, Mahomes’ advances were unwanted and not consented to.
"“I was in shock,” she said. “It’s disgusting,” she said she told Mahomes. “Like you’re a child and he was trying to say ‘we should be a power couple, and I’m like ‘clearly you’re out of your mind right now.’”"
Mahomes and his party were asked to leave the bar and not return. The police were contacted and Vaughn filed a report and turned the surveillance footage of the incident over to the authorities. Video of the incident has surfaced online, although we are not posting it here as FanSided has been unable to verify its authenticity.
The Star published a statement from Jackson Mahomes’ attorney denying any wrongdoing on the part of his client. The police also released a statement acknowledging that they are aware of the incident and are investigating.
Jackson Mahomes has been a lightning rod for controversy and media coverage for years now. He was accused by another Kansas City establishment of being “entitled” and lashing out at employees. Mahomes is also known for his frequent TikToks at Chiefs games and events that some fans on Twitter and elsewhere around the Internet seem to find obnoxious.
