Chiefs news: Marquez Valdes-Scantling wouldn’t mind Allen Lazard in KC
By Matt Conner
If MVS had things his way, he’d see another former Packers teammate join the Chiefs offense.
At this point, it feels like anything goes when it comes to the future of the wide receiver position for the Kansas City Chiefs. With potential trade targets, free agent activity, and draft selections all looming in the next 10 weeks, the Chiefs wide receiver room could look quite different than the way it does now.
For current Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, he seems hopeful that another former teammate might join him in K.C.
Valdes-Scantling came over from the Green Bay Packers just last season on a three-year deal signed in free agency. After winning a Super Bowl in his first season, he’s likely hoping to share the wealth with his former teammate in Lazard, who is now a free agent after a breakout season with the Packers.
The pair had the following exchange on Twitter on Monday.

Lazard had a nice season last year for Green Bay with career highs in a number of categories from targets (100) and catches (60) to yards (788) and first downs (45). Lazard is a big, physical target at 6’5, 225 lbs. and could serve as the same sort of weapon as JuJu Smith-Schuster, depending on what happens with JSS on the open market as well.
