In case you were wanting even the most intimate details about your favorite player, Patrick Mahomes…

Reporting on underwear is really not something any of us here thought we’d ever be doing, but at the same time, we also never thought we’d be so enamored with every detail that comes our way about the single best football player on the planet.

Given that the Kansas City Chiefs are blessed enough to employ the talents of Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, it’s only right and responsible for us to pass along the important details—or in this case, the interesting superstitions–that help Mahomes be as successful as he is.

In a recent interview with ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, Chiefs backup quarterback Chad Henne, who is now retired from the game following the team’s win in Super Bowl LVII, spoke about some rather intimate observations or knowledge he’s had for some time. Apparently, when you know you’re never returning to the locker room, anything goes

Specifically, Schefter asked Henne about Mahomes’ preparation and process and Henne pointed to Mahomes’ baseball background for some of the odd proclivities he’s picked up along the way.

“Baseball background, so all these guys,” Henne says. “He has to have a certain thing each and every day. He comes in and does his work and his notes are written out in a certain way. The same pair of underwear, which probably not a lot of people know, on game day, he’s been wearing them since I’ve been a part of it…”

“There are things that I’ve seen that nobody else has seen. But his preparation is unbelievable and how he goes about it. He knows exactly how many plays are in each section on Andy Reid’s call sheet and if it’s off by one play, it’s going to be mentioned that week.”

Schefter goes on to ask him more about the underwear (of course), and Henne keeps the train awkwardly moving along.

“Only on Sundays. On Sunday, it’s the same pair. Obviously a different outfit, but yeah, since I’ve known him. It’ll be funny for us to go about it. He’s like, “Dude what are you doing checking out my underwear?”

We sense another endorsement coming soon enough.
