The Kansas City Chiefs’ trade for Kadarius Toney days before the NFL trade deadline paid off in a big way in Super Bowl 57.
With the Chiefs leading by 1, just minutes into the fourth quarter, Toney made Super Bowl history by returning an Eagles punt from where he caught it on the Chiefs’ 30 all the way to the Philadelphia 5-yard-line in an incredible return.
Toney somehow stayed on his feet running down the sideline and for a few moments looked like he just might take the ball into the end zone for what would have been the first punt return TD in Super Bowl history.
Three plays later, quarterback Patrick Mahomes connected with Skyy Moore from the 4 and suddenly Kansas City led by eight, 35-27.

Toney’s already had a pretty good day himself, having caught a 5-yard touchdown on the prior 75-yard drive to help give the Chiefs their first lead of the Super Bowl.
