Twitter congratulates Patrick Mahomes on his MVP win
By Matt Conner
Gotta love the responses on Twitter celebrating the great season enjoyed by Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Let’s admit it: we knew it was coming. A voter would have to be a homer to vote for Jalen Hurts or an idiot to vote for Josh Allen (and both came true), but the rest of us who follow the NFL, including those outside of Chiefs Kingdom, knew that Patrick Mahomes was going to win the league’s MVP award.
On Thursday, Mahomes was given his second-ever Most Valuable Player award at the league’s annual NFL Honors program, the 12th such event at which the NFL hands out the year’s hardware from MVP to Rookies of the Year to the Walter Payton Man of the Year.
Mahomes led the entire NFL in yards and passing touchdowns (41) and has five Pro Bowls in fivru seasons as a starter. He already has one MVP award from the regular season and one Super Bowl MVP, and he’s hoping to increase that total with a win on Sunday over Philly.
With the announcement of another major award for Mahomes, several former and present Chiefs players took to Twitter to congratulate the superstar on another job well done.
