Watch: Reporter Mecole Hardman asks Andy Reid about Chiefs’ offense
By Matt Conner
Mecole Hardman might not be able to suit up for the big game due to injury but he’s finding other ways to get involved.
If Mecole Hardman ever makes the official transition into reporting, we’re pretty sure Rich Eisen will have to permanently step aside from running the 40-yard dash at the annual NFL Combine. Instead, Hardman, given his incredible speed, would likely serve as the challenger for all college prospects wanting to make their way to the professional level.
For now, however, Hardman is just dipping his toe into the press’s water during Super Bowl media week with a surprise appearance at Andy Reid’s presser.
Remember this, Hardman has already been told that he can’t play in Super Bowl LVII because of a re-aggravation of his injury to the groin/pelvis that has kept him out since Week 9. Hardman returned for a portion of the conference championship win over the Cincinnati Bengals but was forced to leave. The Chiefs placed Hardman back on injured reserve on Monday, ending his season.
Back to Super Bowl media week. Among the reporters asking questions was a stylish figure who seemed familiar with Andy Reid’s work. In fact he described himself as a “big fan” of his work before asking him a question. Check it out below:
Hardman asking the tough questions of Reid forced the Chiefs head coach to disclose some serious information: “I’m gonna stick straight to the book and I never lie.”
We’re pretty sure Hardman will have his pick of several teams in free agency even after a season defined by injuries, but he undoubtedly has a future in reporting if he wants to go there as well.
