The NFL only awards a bye week to the No. 1 seed in each conference and the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles both took advantage of it by getting to the Super Bowl. These teams tied for the best record in the NFL and will decide who is the best team in the league at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes gets a second chance at a second Super Bowl, and Andy Reid gets a shot at revenge against the team that fired him for not being able to win the big game.

If the Chiefs can win this weekend, it wouldn’t be the first time that Reid prevented the Lombardi Trophy from getting to Philadelphia.

Kansas City got through the gauntlet that was the AFC playoffs, now they’ll try to finish the job as underdogs in Super Bowl 57.

Super Bowl 57 prediction and pick

We heard it last week when the Eagles took on San Francisco, those were the two best defenses in the NFL this year. The Eagles nearly set the all-time sack record with 70 this season.

Philly allowed the least passing yards per game, second fewest yards per game, and were a top 10 scoring defense. The team has a ferocious pass rush and lockdown corners, and they led this team to a 14-3 record.

So, if they’re such a great defense, then why did they get shredded every time they faced a good offense?

The Eagles had one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this year and that includes their two playoff games against Daniel Jones and the New York Giants and a seventh-round rookie in need of Tommy John.

In Week 1 the Detroit Lions, who finished as top five scoring offense, hung 35 points on Philly. Then they dominated Kirk Cousins and Carson Wentz.

In Week 4, Trevor Lawrence put up 21 points. Then they dominated Kyler Murray, Cooper Rush, Kenny Pickett and Davis Mills.

Next up, Taylor Heinicke and Washington hung 32 on the Eagles on Monday Night Football, Philly’s first loss. Aaron Rodgers put up 33, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys scored 40. Get the picture?

The Eagles had it all laid out in front of them, and to their credit they took advantage, but in the regular season, the Cowboys, Giants, Vikings, and Jaguars were the only playoff teams that they faced.

They won’t know what hit them when Patrick Mahomes is on the other side. The Chiefs are battle tested after beating Joe Burrow and a much better version of Trevor Lawrence than the Eagles saw to get to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs have the No. 1 offense in the NFL and their quarterback’s ankle will be two weeks healthier. Need I say more?
