Some players took serious exception to the Kansas City Chiefs’ “Snowglobe” play against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Kansas City Chiefs closed out the regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders with the sort of well-rounded performance that pretty much showcased everything they can do to an opponent when everything is clicking. Special teams executed well. The defense was locked in. The pass rush was strong. The offense was prolific. They were so good, in fact, that they were even pulling out trick plays that made announcers laugh and shake their heads.

Well, as it turns out, not everyone was laughing.

Denver Broncos lineman Quinn Meinerz, who knows a thing or two about losing over and over to the Chiefs as it is, took offense to the Chiefs’ antics. In particular, he recently spoke out about the play known as “snowglobe” and said it “genuinely pissed him off.”

If you missed the play, it involved all of the Chiefs offensive starters huddled together before starting to run around in a circle together like a child’s game before breaking off into their respective positions and hiking the ball quickly on a trick play that included running back Jerick McKinnon taking the snap from Creed Humphrey only to toss it to Patrick Mahomes to his right, who then tossed a touchdown pass to Kadarius Toney across the field.

“I’ve said it before. I’m sick of losing to the Chiefs. My number one goal that I’m going to be looking at every day is to want to beat them. I’m gonna say it because it’s on my chest: The fact that they did that little ring around the Rosie play against the Raiders genuinely pissed me off. I’m just excited for that day and that moment and that’s one of the things I’m prepared for going into next year.”

Brett Veach thinks it’s worth a closer look.
