L’Jarius Sneed deserves more credit

Everyone in Chiefs Kingdom is already well aware of the value of L’Jarius Sneed at this point. The former fourth-round pick has proven to be a very versatile weapon on defense, whether tasked with playing outside against bigger receivers, patrolling inside in the slot, playing tough against the run, or blitzing the opposing quarterback.

These days, Sneed is the ultimate chess piece on a team with Super Bowl dreams who is even more important than ever without a player like Tyrann Mathieu around to share the same responsibilities. With such a young secondary around him, Sneed has shouldered even more of a burden to carry the Chiefs defense forward—or at least do his significant part—and he’s more than lived up to those lofty expectations.

Some Chiefs fans were hoping to see him earn a Pro Bowl nod this year, and he certainly deserves one, but at the very least, he deserves far more credit on a national level for being such a consistently good player for the Chiefs defense.
