Let’s look at the lists of inactive players for both the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans as the teams prepare to face off on Sunday afternoon.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ visit to Houston to face the lowly Texans is expected to already to be a one-sided blowout. The Chiefs have been the class of the AFC for the last several seasons, and they’ve put together seven consecutive AFC West titles together, while in the same stretch, the Texans have crumbled once again and are looking to rebuild toward a better future for a team that has never enjoyed anything mirroring close to K.C.’s current run.
The downside, if you can believe there’s one from here for Houston, is that the injury report is not kind. The Texans are not even remotely healthy, and they’ve already designated several of their best players as out for today’s game. It’s a list that includes cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. (not ready yet after an IR stint), rookie back Dameon Pierce, wide receiver Brandin Cooks, and starting left guard Kenyon Green.
As for the Chiefs, they’re getting healthier, the team hopes to see Kadarius Toney back on the field of play after missing a few weeks with a hamstring injury. From here, the Chiefs will also look to bring back Mecole Hardman and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to bolster an offense heading for its postseason run.
