Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos

What a journey this game was. First, I got to enjoy watching the game at the official Arrowhead Addict Podcast live event in Kansas City. Watching the game with fans and readers was just wonderful. And it definitely started out as a party. I spent a good 10 minutes laughing about our newest GOAT pass.

I mean, you just have to sit back and laugh. Then it’s like the Chiefs said to themselves “eh, we already won” and decided they didn’t need to finish the game. I get so frustrated when this happens. It’s like the Chiefs get overconfident and let teams back into games. A better team than the Broncos would have won that game. The sloppiness is not acceptable if the Chiefs want to make a deep run.

It’s also unacceptable that the defense allowed such a poor offense to have its way with them. I don’t know what the answer is but again, a better team would have beaten the Chiefs on Sunday.

There are some things the Chiefs need to get worked out if they hope to not be a “one and done” playoff team. At the end of the day, though, the Chiefs took care of business to extend the winning streak against the Broncos to 14 and handled their business. Next week, with a win, the Chiefs can claim the AFC West crown. The Chiefs travel to Houston to take on the Texans. This should be an easy win – maybe they won’t treat it like the Broncos game.

The Broncos, on the other hand, have officially been eliminated from the playoffs.

They now just have to finish the season and figure out what in the world they are going to do with their bad quarterback and possibly worse head coach. This will not be a fun offseason as the Broncos live in quarterback hell.

The Broncos host the Cardinals next week. The Cardinals likely just lost Kyler Murray for the year to a knee injury so they might pull this out. I can tell you this, though – it is a game that I will only watch because I know that in April, I’ll be missing football.
