Patrick Mahomes’ underhand touchdown makes everyone’s jaws drop
By Matt Conner
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had another insane touchdown throw on Sunday to add to his career highlight reel.
Just when you think the list of different ways that Patrick Mahomes could come up with to throw a touchdown had been completed, he comes up with another way to make the collective jaws of everyone in Chiefs Kingdom (and outside of it) drop in awe of his insane talent.
On Sunday, against the Denver Broncos (on their home turf, by the way), Mahomes decided to pull another proverbial rabbit out of his hat to work some Mahomes Magic.
When chased by the Denver pass rush in the second quarter, Mahomes was on the run and it actually looked like they might bring him down. On this play, I was actually starting to yell at him to throw it away. Then he decided to throw a touchdown pass to running back Jerick McKinnon to put the Chiefs up by two scores.
What’s amazing is that the lexicon for Mahomes greatness continues to grow each week. We all know of the left-handed toss or Jet Chip Wasp or the touchdown scramble. We’ve even had underhanded greatness and no-look greatness, but we now have underhanded no-look greatness!
And if you were yelling after the fact, you’re not alone. Everyone was on fire after that particular play.
