Chiefs vs. Chargers inactives: JuJu Smith-Schuster among those out
By Matt Conner
For the first time in a few weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs have more injured players sitting out as inactive than normal.
The list of inactive players for the Kansas City Chiefs is typically a list of substitutes at the team’s deepest positions or developmental guys they don’t want to leave sitting available on the practice squad. For this week, however, there are several injured players who are nursing wounds taking those spots as the Chiefs prepare to visit the Los Angeles Chargers.
Coming into Sunday Night Football against an AFC West rival, the Chiefs are finding themselves dealing with multiple concussion concerns to both wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and cornerback Chris Lammons.
Smith-Schuster took a scary hit during the Chiefs’ win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday in Week 10 and was immediately taken out of the game. He missed every practice this week as K.C. prepared for the visit to L.A., but despite his mid-week post on Instagram saying, “All is well. Be back soon,” the wideout will miss at least one game due to injury.
As for Lammons, the Chiefs have plenty of cornerback depth but the vet is an exceptional player on special teams and given the team’s recent mistakes in those ranks, it will hurt to miss him there as well.
