The Kansas City Chiefs have reported ruled JuJu Smith-Schuster out for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

The Kansas City Chiefs have watched wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster sit out of practice sessions all week long as he continues to linger in the team’s concussion protocol. As it turns out, the Chiefs will let Smith-Schuster sit a bit longer on the sidelines with the report that the Chiefs have ruled him out for Sunday’s game.

The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Chargers in primetime on Sunday Night Football in Week 11, but at this point, it looks as if they won’t be at full firepower on offense given that Smith-Schuster will have to sit out. The Chiefs are also missing wideout Mecole Hardman, who was already placed on injured reserve earlier this week.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, they’ve boasted some incredible depth at the position all season long and they’re also loaded with pass catchers at other positions. Marquez Valdez-Scantling has been injured as well in recent days but returned to practice and should be okay. Kadarius Toney, Justin Watson, and Skyy Moore are all available next to tight end Travis Kelce and his solid backups.

The Chiefs are going to be focused on one primary thing—the postseason—when it comes to anyone’s health. Hardman was given a chance to sit out for several weeks to heal and the Chiefs will take their time with Smith-Schuster as well.

The good news is that the Chiefs will get a couple of other players back from injury. Andrew Wylie has been practicing and should return to compete for reps on the right side of the offensive line. L’Jarius Sneed and Jerick McKinnon have both been limited in practice but should be good to go as well.

The Chargers are dealing with a number of serious injuries themselves, including at receiver where Michael Williams and Keenan Allen have missed multiple games. Details are still out on whether or not they will suit up against the Chiefs.
