Game two between the Chiefs and Chargers was flexed to Sunday Night Football in Week 11. Let’s see FanDuel’s odds for the game and make our prediction.
The finale of the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers 2022 regular season battle is slated for Sunday Night Football in Week 11. It is the third divisional matchup of the season for the Chiefs, and all three have been played under the lights on primetime. It was Week 2 when the Chiefs and Chargers first met, and Jaylen Watson made his name with a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown. Kansas City took game one at Arrowhead, 27-24, and now travel to their home away from home—everybody’s second home field—SoFi Stadium, for game two.
Chiefs vs Chargers Week 11 odds
There are a number of star players for the Chargers who are wrestling with nagging injuries—Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Joey Bosa to name a few—and that was surely in consideration when FanDuel Sportsbook drew up their opening line for the game. The Chiefs are 6.5-point road favorites, and the points total is set at 50.
Regardless of who’s home or away, the Chiefs and Chargers rivalry has been electric since the Mahomes/Herbert era has begun. Somehow with all of the injuries they are battling, the Chargers have found a way to remain competitive, and I still expect to see a dogfight on Sunday night. With the disastrous starts to the Raiders’ and Broncos’ seasons, L.A. is the lone remaining contender for the AFC West throne and they are surely aware of it. The Chiefs—6-3 against the Chargers since 2018—on the other hand, surely wish to continue their run of dominance and add to the separation between themselves and L.A.
Chiefs vs Chargers Week 11 prediction
Great duels between these two are what we’ve grown accustomed to, but with all the injuries LA is battling, a call for another may be a less popular opinion. I do struggle, however, to imagine a game where Kansas City steamrolls right through this week. The Chiefs are 4-5 ATS thus far, and have only covered a number greater than six once. Additionally, these two teams have played in a combined nine games with points totals of 50 or more this season, and have only hit the over three times. It may not be the kind of high-scoring affair that we have seen in recent history, but it will be a fight nonetheless.
Prediction: Chiefs 26, Chargers 23
