Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are on a bye week, Chiefs Kingdom was able to watch the Las Vegas Raiders get beat by the New Orleans Saints.

Is anyone else having the bye-week blues? I’m glad that the Kansas City Chiefs are getting a much-needed week off from football action, but it’s just not the same when they aren’t playing.

There’s still been lots of good football action, including with two of our division rivals playing (the Chargers also had a bye). The Denver Broncos, unfortunately, pulled off a close win against the Jaguars in London Sunday morning.

But on this side of the pond? The Las Vegas Raiders got an absolute shellacking by the New Orleans Saints. And I loved seeing it. Anytime the Raiders lose, we all win.

But this wasn’t just any loss. This was a complete shutout. That’s right: Saints, 24; Raiders, big ole goose egg.

To say that the Raiders have been disappointing this season is a bit of an understatement. They’ve been massively disappointing. In his second head coaching stint (also in the AFC West), Josh McDaniels can’t be what Las Vegas was envisioning when they pulled him away from the New England Patriots.

The mighty Derek Carr also had a classic day with just over 100 yards passing and one interception. The Saints aren’t even that good. They’ve turned to Andy Dalton to be their quarterback and are only relevant because the rest of the NFC South is dreadful.

Yet their defense kept Vegas beyond midfield all way up until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter.

I wish the Chiefs were playing today, but I’m more than happy to see the Raiders take a nice big L, drop to 2-5 and claim sole possession of last place in the division. Happy bye week Chiefs Kingdom and may your Halloween be as scary as the Las Vegas Raiders, which is to say, not very scary at all.

Next. Grading every Chiefs draft pick at the bye. dark
