Isiah Pacheco, Running Back (Round 7, Pick 251)

After it was reported that Isiah Pacheco would be the starting running back for the Chiefs, many fans had great expectations for the rookie, but he only recorded eight rushing attempts for 43 yards. Not quite the breakout game that many fans expected. Pacheco did return five kickoffs for a total of 126 yards, including a 48-yard return to open the second half, which had 15 yards tacked on because of a personal foul penalty. Although he didn’t see as many rushing attempts as fans thought he would see, it could be a positive sign for things to come after the bye week.

Jaylen Watson, Cornerback (Round 7, Pick 243)

In the win over the 49ers, Jaylen Watson played 46 coverage snaps and allowed two catches on two targets for 32 yards and a touchdown to George Kittle. Although he allowed a touchdown to Kittle, it wasn’t terrible coverage but instead a great play by a fantastic play by a superstar tight end. He also allowed a 17-yard catch (5 yards after the catch) to Brandon Aiyuk.

George Karlaftis, Defensive End (Round 1, Pick 30)

In 51 defensive snaps against San Francisco, George Karlaftis had a solid but not great day rushing the passer, while having a putrid game stopping the 49ers’ rushing attack. He did have three pressures on Sunday (one QB hit and two hurries), including a hit on Jimmy Garappolo the same play as the Joshua Williams interception towards the end of the first half. In addition, he also batted a pass attempt but also missed two tackles. Since Week 1, Karlaftis has had a pass rush win % of just 9.2%, which is tied for 99th out of 124 eligible edge rushers over that time, per Pro Football Focus ($). He’s had his flashes of brilliance, including in this game, but the down-to-down consistency is not quite there. Hopefully, the bye week will do Karlaftis some good as he’s struggled immensely since his regular-season NFL debut, especially against the run.
