The Kansas City Chiefs have lost defensive tackle Turk Wharton to an injury in their game against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5 on Monday Night Football.

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton early in the game against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5. The Chiefs quickly ruled him out with a knee injury.

On the Raiders second drive of the game, Wharton came off of the field after the Chiefs allowed wide receiver Davante Adams to score ona 58-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr. Wharton was seen on the sideline heading to the blue medical tent as trainers were looking at his leg.

The Chiefs have been dealing with injuries up front along the line for weeks with the loss of Mike Danna for multiple games due to a calf injury already. Wharton’s ability to slide inside and out has given him more reps in recent weeks, and he led the team last week with the most quarterback pressures in Week 4 against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wharton has been a tremendous find for the Chiefs as a former rookie free agent signing from Missouri S&T. Wharton made the team initially after a rookie tryout weekend and is now entering his third season with the team.

So far this season, Wharton has 8 tackles, 5 pressures, 4 quarterback hits and 1 sack in four games for the Chiefs.
