Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 4.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has now taken home exactly one-half of the Offensive Player of the Week awards possible after being honored once again following his incredible performance in Week 4.

The Chiefs traveled to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a highly-anticipated showdown on Sunday Night Football in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as anyone thought it would be. Instead, the Chiefs steamrolled the Bucs thanks to a strong defense, excellent special teams play, and an unstoppable offense. In fact, the only first-half possession that didn’t end in a touchdown was due to Clyde Edwards-Helaire dropping an easy catch that would have likely gone for a score itself.

Mahomes completed 23 of 37 passing attempts against the Bucs—good for 62.2 percent—for 249 passing yards and 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also had 34 rushing yards and multiple highlight plays that made jaws drop around the league.

As for his previous win, Mahomes took home the same honor after passing for five touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals in a Week 1 road win as well. It’s his ninth career win in just over four seasons as the Chiefs’ full-time starting quarterback. Per the NFL, Mahomes’ nine OPOW awards are fifth-most among active quarterbacks.

On the season, Mahomes has the Chiefs at 3-1 overall and he’s leading the NFL with 11 touchdown passes. He’s completing 66.4 percent of his throws with 1,106 yards through four starts and he’s averaging a career-high 82.3 QBR.
