Kansas City Chiefs

What a thrilling Thursday Night Football game. The Chiefs came out flat, and I was thrilled when they were only down three at halftime. When the defense came out in the second half, it was like they were playing possessed. Sack Nation reared its ugly head and lifted the offense out of its slump.

Most incredibly was the 99-yard pick-six from Jaylen Watson. What an incredible story for that man and what an incredible moment.

Chills. And let’s not forget our other Watson – Justin Watson!

Patrick Mahomes warned us that it is going to be a different guy every week and he was not kidding. At the end of the day, the Chiefs now sit alone atop the AFC West standings as they head into a mini-bye before facing the Colts.

One wrinkle was thrown the Chiefs’ way this week with the suspension of Willie Gay. He received four games stemming from a domestic violence incident earlier this year. While we do not know the details of the incident, suffice it to say that no domestic violence should be tolerated and we hope he received (and continues to receive) the help he needs. The Chiefs will need to adjust and rely on their depth heading into some critical games.

Luckily, however, their first opponent is the Colts coming off a huge loss to the Jaguars. They scored no points. Let’s just say, I live in Kansas where sports betting is legal and I’ve put some money on this one.
