Podcast: Looking ahead to Chiefs vs. Colts
By Matt Conner
On this episode of the podcast, Sterling Holmes and Matt Conner look ahead to the Chiefs’ next road trip to Indianapolis and discuss the latest news.
It’s been an interesting start to the week for the Kansas City Chiefs as they turn the corner from a weekend of rest following their Thursday Night Football win over the L.A. Chargers, Now with the Indianapolis Colts in view for another road trip, the Chiefs are wondering how their defense will fare with the loss of playmaking linebacker Willie Gay, Jr.
The NFL announced the suspension of Gay for four games on Monday and early news leaked saying that Gay would not appeal the decision. The suspension comes in response to an offseason altercation between Gay and the mother of his child back in January. Charges were filed against Gay at the time for property damage after Gay had reportedly broken a vacuum cleaner and damaged a wall in the midst of an argument.
Gay reached a plea agreement before training camp this summer but somehow the suspension was kept silent until now when the Chiefs must face the next four opponents without him.
How will the Chiefs defense respond to life without Gay and cornerback Trent McDuffie as two prime contributors? Does it really matter for Week 3 given the pitiful performances put on by the Colts so far this year? Will Matt Ryan and Jonathan Taylor help the Colts shock the Chiefs at a pivotal moment?
On this episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast, we discuss all of this and more as we look ahead to Week 3.
