Kansas City Chiefs

Wow. All that talk about Mahomes struggling this year with the departure of Tyreek Hill really seems to be noise, doesn’t it? Mahomes and the Chiefs absolutely stomped the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. It was never even close. The Chiefs were dominant in all aspects of the game even following the injury to Harrison Butker. The score makes the game look closer than it was, but networks were cutting away to “more competitive games” early in the third quarter. Mahomes was perfect. 5 TOUCHDOWNS. Unreal.

Now, I don’t think the Cardinals are a very good team and they have injuries and suspensions that are plaguing them right now, but come on! The Chiefs were able to do whatever they wanted.

It is so difficult for me not to drink the Kool-Aid right now. Fine, I’ll do it. Super Bowl Champs. BUT, before we get to that, the Chiefs have a major hurdle on Thursday Night Football. First, let’s acknowledge that it is the first time Amazon Prime will host TNF exclusively, and shout out to the new intro banger song!

The Chiefs face some struggles as rookie Trent McDuffie was placed on IR on Tuesday because of a hamstring injury that Andy Reid blames on the Arizona turf.

Harrison Butker is also a question mark due to the poor turf. Will kicking be a major talking point on Friday morning? We will see. Thankfully, the left wrist injury to Patrick Mahomes appears minor. Regardless, there are some real question marks heading into this incredibly important game.

I, for one, cannot wait to see Arrowhead in all its glory. Bring on the Chargers.
