The Kansas City Chiefs begin the 2022 NFL season shortly. In the league’s toughest division and rough schedule, the Chiefs have a lot to overcome.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had a tumultuous offseason following the 2021 season. From trading wide receiver Tyreek Hill to a new-look defense, the Chiefs are a differently built team with the same championship expectations. It is hard to count out a team led by head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but national expectations are for Kansas City to regress in 2022.

It is hard to fault an outside or uneducated NFL pundit to expect major regression. But, Chiefs fans know this is a team who has reached four straight AFC Championship games, an achievement bested only by the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots. Until proven otherwise, the AFC runs through Arrowhead, as it has the past four years.

It will be different and painful at times, but Mahomes and the Chiefs have already proven they can push through adversity. After all, they started the 2021 season 3-4, with an abysmal defense and sputtering offense. There are new faces who will produce, and others who need to be the next man up. What are some season-long predictions for the Chiefs?
