Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Skyy Moore said he was okay on an Instagram post after suffering an injury in camp on Tuesday.
It was the sort of moment that every fan of every team is praying won’t happen when watching players practice once again after an offseason away—yet it happens to so many NFL players every year. Fortunately for the Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Skyy Moore says he is okay after coming up limping from a hip injury suffered on Tuesday.
Moore, the team’s second-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, originally came up hobbling on a play in which he was facing off with defensive back Nazeeh Johnson, also a member of the same class from the seventh round.
Moore initially created separation, but ends up dropping a pass on the drill, and as Johnson caught up, he bumped him and Moore’s legs were caught underneath in an odd way as he fell.

The good news is that Moore was still walking without any help and then signaled to Chiefs fans after the fact on Instagram that he was okay when an account posted the video with the news that Moore might be injured. Moore responded, “I’m okay !👍🏽”
Moore has looked great in training camp as the very sort of player he was projected to be at the pro level. His ability to separate is second-to-none and his hands are exceptional. If he can become an important part of this offense early, the Chiefs are going to have a very productive receiver for the next four years or more.
Watch for further injury updates on Moore and Jody Fortson from head coach Andy Reid on Wednesday as the Chiefs return for another day of practice at Missouri Western State. Hopefully Moore will be back on the field soon and this injury scare will be a very short-lived moment.
