Training Camp is here and we want you to know the roster inside and out. Let’s begin our Kansas City Chiefs positional overview with the quarterbacks.

The Chiefs are headed to Saint Joseph for training camp. With a new collection of players, we’ve got you covered with a “Who’s who?” of training camp and the 2022-2023 preseason.

In this series, we will discuss the interesting facts and tidbits about each player on Kansas City’s roster. Today, we start the series with the quarterbacks.

#15 Patrick Mahomes

College: Texas Tech
Years Pro: 6 (26 years old)
Chance of Making the Roster: Lock

You might be living under a rock if you don’t know who Patrick Mahomes is at this point. Mahomes to this point has had a great professional career. In his first season without Tyreek Hill, 2022-2023 will be a brand new experience.

Mahomes enters his sixth year as a pro with a retooled arsenal of weapons. The expectation is not only that Mahomes will be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but also that he will lead Kansas City to yet another AFC Championship game.

#4 Chad Henne

College: Michigan
Years Pro: 15 (37 years old)
Chance of Making the Roster: Near Lock

The Chiefs re-signed Chad Henne to the surprise of some to a one-year deal. The 37-year-old will enter his fourth year as the backup to Patrick Mahomes. The long-time quarterback is likely to win the job over the younger options due to his experience and the success he has had in limited opportunities.

As the oldest player on the roster, Henne finds himself in a unique position with the Chiefs, who rarely keep players around when they get past the age of 30. In training camp this year, expect Henne to get the majority of second-string reps.
