Chris Harris Jr., CB
It would normally be blasphemous to even consider adding another former arch-rival of the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite the history, and being past his prime, Harris Jr. could be the missing piece in a Chiefs cornerback room that’s loaded with young players.
After going undrafted from Kansas, he signed with the Broncos as a free agent, where he spent nine seasons, making four Pro Bowls, earning two second-team All-Pro mentions, and winning Super Bowl 50. Although he hasn’t been his Pro Bowl self since 2018, he could still serve as an important depth corner, and possibly more important, a mentor to young corners like Trent McDuffie, Joshua Williams, and L’Jarius Sneed.
Even though his play has been average over the past couple of seasons, Harris can still be a contributing player for the Chiefs. He would most likely compete for the starting slot-corner role in addition to serving as an overall depth piece. It also should be mentioned that having veteran experience matters in the NFL, especially at a position that is very difficult to master like cornerback. Bringing in a player with the resume of Harris Jr. would serve a purpose that goes much further than just covering slot receivers.
