KC Chiefs open as 3-point favorites over Cardinals

The Week 1 odds are already out for the 2022 season and the Kansas City Chiefs are now three-point favorites against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Kansas City Chiefs just learned their full schedule for the 2022 NFL regular season, and that set Vegas oddsmakers to work immediately laying out the spread for the games for the upcoming year. The official odds are now out for Week 1, and with Arizona Cardinals waiting to host the Chiefs, we’ve learned the road team is a three-point favorite.
Given that the home team typically has a three-point advantage, that means that the Chiefs would be favored by six points most likely on a neutral site.
There are plenty of storylines coming into the new season, and the Cardinals matchup specifically only adds plenty more intrigue. In terms of the Chiefs, it will be the team’s first official game without several key players who have served as pillars in recent years—including heroes who helped the team claim their first championship in 50 years, including Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu.
The Chiefs are also anxious to see how several young players and new faces begin to fit going forward. New receivers like JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will have all eyes on them as they try to replace Hill. Rookies like Skyy Moore on offense and Trent McDuffie and George Karlaftis on defense will also be exciting players to see for the first time.
As for the Cardinals matchup, in particular, Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury was the college head coach of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, so it should be fun to see their pre-game interaction. Kyler Murray will also be making his debut after a season filled with drama and uncertainty about whether or not he could be dealt. The Cards will also make do without DeAndre Hopkins who has been suspended.
The Chiefs will visit the Cardinals on Sunday, September 11.
