Offensive tackle prospects who could solve the KC Chiefs concerns
By KC Proctor
Tyler Smith, Tulsa
This one is fun, and frankly, if picks 1-28 are light enough on tackles, it is totally realistic that Tyler Smith could be one of the Chiefs top two picks rather than Bernard Raimann. Saying “light enough” is to infer that if the rest of the teams ahead of Kansas City are more interested in the playmakers available to them, they will likely be leaning on the trenches in round two, and if that is the case, Smith may very well not make it back to the Chiefs at 50.
The Smith Brothers’ Pancake House would be open for business with Tyler slotting in alongside Trey, and this could elevate the running game in Kansas City to heights unimaginable, all while making Patrick Mahomes the most secure asset on earth.
At 6’5″ and 324 pounds, Tyler Smith is an absolute bruiser. He has nearly identical measurables to Trey, notable explosiveness (5.05 40-yard dash), and a mean streak that is second to none. This big, nasty tackle out of Tulsa is far and away the favorite option for a filler in the Chiefs’ tackle room and would perfectly round out the trenches.
This clip is must-see TV, y’all.
