This offseason has been one for the books in the AFC West. The crazier part is that there’s still so much time and opportunities for the teams within it to get better before the regular season even begins.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been the class of the West ever since Andy Reid arrived as head coach back in 2013. At that point, the Chiefs became a much more competitive opponent with a sustained success that would soon become the envy of the division. Then, in 2016, he tightened the clamps on his divisional hold.

Since that fateful season, the Chiefs have never once trailed anyone in the AFC West at the season’s end. That’s good for six straight division titles, a run of dominance never before seen in NFL history by any team within the West. And the Chiefs are going to likely be the favorites for the foreseeable future. Such is life with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback.

While the Kansas City Chiefs are still the class of the division, the AFC West has loaded up like never before.

But this offseason has brought about a different approach than last year or the year before. It’s as if the losses finally took such a toll on the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, and L.A. Chargers that they finally decided to do something about it—each and every one of them. It would be noticeable in a given offseason for even one of them to make the seismic moves they have made, but together, the trio of Chiefs’ rivals have gone all-in for the 2022 season to such a degree that the West has the rest of the talking.

Consider that, in this piece, we’re talking about the scariest addtiions within the division and we’re not even getting to the likes of pass rusher Chandler Jones or wide receiver Davante Adams landing with the Raiders. We’re also not bringing up edge rusher Randy Gregory taking his talents to Mile High Stadium. Instead, the division is now so loaded that even elite talents are crowded out of a list like this.

Here are the three scariest additions to the AFC West (so far) this offseason.
