KC Chiefs three-round mock draft shows results of Tyreek Hill trade
By Evan Mead
2.62: Cameron Thomas, EDGE, San Diego State
Cameron Thomas is the pick here. No questions should need to be asked. The Chiefs have a need at pass rusher and in this mock draft, I wanted to make sure to address the situation.
In his time with San Diego State, Thomas did nothing but produce week in and week out. However, this season is where he really made a name for himself. This past season for San Diego State, he played in 14 games and produced unreal numbers, finishing with 71 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, and 1 forced fumble.
As you can probably tell from those stats, Thomas is an unreal pass rusher. I mean, there are not many people in this draft who can produce like that, but it is a wait-and-see situation as to how he does at the next level. From watching the film it’s clear he has the intangibles—hand usage, strength, speed, moves, counters, and versatility.
When looking at the stats, we all have a tendency to get carried away but it’s easy to forget that the competition he was going against wasn’t anything special. I mean, he was attending SDSU so it’s not like he was facing schools like Alabama or anything.
If he turns out to be real, this draft selection would be absolutely incredible.
