Former Chiefs wideout Demarcus Robinson will visit Raiders

Sometimes it’s all a player can do to cross over to the other side if that’s the only option in free agency. For former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, playing for the Las Vegas Raiders might be the choice before him in free agency for the 2022 season.
The Chiefs are moving forward without Robinson for the first time in a half-decade—and the first time in his NFL career—and ESPN reporter Adam Schefter has word that the Raiders are bringing in Robinson for a closer look and free-agent visit.
Robinson first landed with the Chiefs as a fourth-round draft pick back in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played out his entire rookie contract and has signed subsequent one-year deals to return to the Chiefs as part of one of the league’s most dynamic offenses with Patrick Mahomes at the helm.

For the last six seasons, Robinson has appeared in 97 games for the Chiefs and has 145 catches for 1,679 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns to his credit. Robinson is a well-rounded player given his blocking ability and can be valuable as a lower-tier option. It’s quite possible the Raiders or another team could also press him into return duties, an area with which he rarely flirted at the pro level in six years with the Chiefs.
After six years, the Chiefs are cleary moving on after signing former Steelers wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster and will likely get younger at the position through the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft as well.
