Odell Beckham, Jr., wide receiver, L.A. Rams

Some fans will sneer at this, but that’s because their minds are already made up about Odell Beckham Jr.’s personality or something. That’s fine since the Chiefs have long proven their willingness to do whatever they like personnel-wise without worrying about what fans want in the short term.

Last year the Chiefs tried on multiple occasions to find a reliable offensive weapon that can absorb considerable targets by creating consistent separation. As Hill and Kelce get older, the Chiefs are likely to draft someone this year or next with a high-level pick, but the present also demands a veteran who can handle the role and that’s where Odell Beckham Jr. fits right in.

The Browns certainly cannot be pleased with how their side of the OBJ trade worked out in the end with the Giants, but the Rams enjoyed the offensive boost that Beckham provided in just over a half-season of play in 2021. They’re on the verge of a Super Bowl due to their dangerous offense and Beckham has been a big part of that with five touchdowns in seven starts. He also has 19 catches for 236 yards and 1 touchdown in the postseason.

The Chiefs have seen this very offense operate on an even higher level with Kareem Hunt in the backfield and then Sammy Watkins at wideout. The understanding seems to be that a third dynamic weapon can really keep things clicking for the Chiefs, and a potential offseason signing of Beckham would definitely provide that.
