Free Agent Wide Receivers ranked in the likelihood of joining the Chiefs in 2022:

1. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers

As aforementioned, the interest was there last offseason and talks could resume again soon. If he is, indeed interested in joining the Chiefs, it seems likely that the Chiefs will pursue him and make him the new “X” receiver in the West Coast Offensive scheme that Andy Reid loves. With that in mind, he will likely not be the most expensive option on the market. While he is not necessarily considered a top-five option, he would fit in with Mahomes and company immediately.

2. Odell Beckham Jr., Los Angeles Rams

It does not seem as though Beckham Jr. will be sticking around in L.A. With Robert Woods on track for a return and Cooper Kupp playing the best football of his career, it seems unlikely that the Rams will be able to afford him. The Chiefs were one of the teams in hot pursuit when he was released mid-season. It seems likely that they will be interested in speaking with him again.

3. Christian Kirk, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals collapsed at the end of the season and now the future seems bleak and unclear. Christian Kirk was a bright spot for the offense, finishing with 982 yards receiving and five touchdowns. While Kirk is not a burner, he has good footwork and can consistently beat one on one coverage. To be Kansas City’s third option may not seem immediately appealing, but he could help make them a historically great passing offense.
