KC Chiefs vs. Steelers: Inactive players for Wild Card round
By Matt Conner
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs have prepared all week long for the opportunity in front of them—to take the first step toward their hopes for Super Bowl glory—and we’re a short distance from kickoff on Sunday night of the NFL’s Super Wild Card Weekend. Before that, however, we’ve got to take a look at the way rosters are shaping up as the game comes into view.
The Chiefs have been pretty clear in terms of injuries in recent weeks but warmups right before a game have actually turned into a problem. It was only two weeks ago that left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. suffered a calf injury and sat out the game he was gearing up to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Following that, wide receiver Tyreek Hill re-injured his heel in warmups before the Chiefs’ victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 18.
Heading into their upcoming showdown at Arrowhead Stadium with the Steelers, the Chiefs can only hope there are no further complications just before this game because they’re looking fairly healthy overall despite some recent concerns. There are issues in the backfield, to be sure, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire already determined to be out for this game. In addition, Darrel Williams has a toe injury that’s been a source of concern this week. Beyond that, however, the Chiefs look ready to go.
Here are the inactive players for Chiefs vs. Steelers in the Wild Card round.
The same can be said for the Steelers who were dealing with injuries to running back Najee Harris, guard Trai Turner and more, but those players had a clean week of practice. The Steelers are also looking to get back wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for the first time since an early-season injury in Week 5 (shoulder).
Here’s the list of Chiefs players who are officially inactive:
- Clyde Edwards-Helaire, running back
- Rashad Fenton, cornerback
- Josh Gordon, wide receiver
- Shane Buechele, quarterback
- Darwin Thompson, running back
- Prince Tega Wanogho, offensive tackle
- Joshua Kaindoh, defensive end
Here’s the list of Steelers players who are officially inactive:
- Dwayne Haskins, quarterback
- Tegray Scales, linebacker
- Carlos Davis, defensive line
- Anthony McFarland Jr., running back
- Cody White, wideout
The Steelers and Chiefs kick off at Arrowhead Stadium at 7:15 C.T.
