Chiefs Game Today: Broncos vs Chiefs injury report, schedule, live stream, TV and betting preview for Week 18
By Matt Conner
It feels silly to consider the Denver Broncos a tough opponent at this point. It’s a head coach waiting to be fired against a Hall of Fame coach with a Super Bowl window. It’s a team in search of anything at quarterback versus the best young QB in the game. It’s also been 12 games since the Broncos could claim a win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
That said, all things, including win streaks, come to an end and the Biblical book of Proverbs warns us that pride precedes a fall. To that end, we’re not willing to overlook the Broncos in any way, especially with the top seed in the AFC still technically up for grabs. Let’s look at a game the Chiefs still need to focus on despite the distance between the two teams overall.
Chiefs Injury Report vs Denver Broncos Week 18
The Chiefs will be without Clyde Edwards-Helaire for this game as they were last game after he was forced to head to the sidelines with a shoulder injury back in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team isn’t placing him on injured reserve and an MRI showed positive signs, so we’re betting the Chiefs are playing it safe until the postseason to bring back the backfield to full strength.
Patrick Surtain II injury update
The Chiefs are going to get a pretty limited secondary from the Denver Broncos who will be without their sensational rookie cornerback on Saturday given the short week after he injured his calf. He wasn’t able to practice this week and there’s no way the Broncos can force him onto the field (nor is it in their long-term interest) which means his rookie campaign is finished. His injury along with Kareem Jackson and Ronald Darby being out should mean big things for Patrick Mahomes and the passing game.
Chiefs vs Broncos Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 18
WynnBET’s Week 18 NFL odds have the Chiefs favored by 11 points. For a road team that’s pretty astronomical, especially since the Broncos aren’t that bad. At this point, however, Denver’s season is officially over and with the Chiefs motivated and relatively healthy, it seems as though oddsmakers are betting KC runs up the score to be able to rest some key players.
The Chiefs have a money line of -535 and the Broncos are at +405 with an over/under right now of 45.5 points.
