The Kansas City Chiefs already know they have it easy when it comes to their special teams units. Punter Tommy Townsend just won the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Month for November. Coach Dave Toub is arguably the league’s best as his position. Harrison Butker is the ideal blend of strength and accuracy at kicker.

On Sunday night against the Denver Broncos, Butker decided to show off again with a long field goal of 56 yards that had enough distance to save a drive stalled by drops.

The Chiefs found themselves facing a long third-and-15 when wideout Byron Pringle dropped his second pass of the drive (to his credit, he also had a couple of great plays on the same drive, too), and the Chiefs decided to go for it even though the attempt was so long—instead of punting it and trying to pin the Broncos offense.

Here’s the kick from Butker to give the Chiefs a two-possession lead early in the first quarter.

WIth the kick, Butker made it 25 consecutive field goals made against the Denver Broncos. The broadcast on Sunday Night Football noted that it was the longest active streak for a kicker against a single team. As fans who loathe the Broncos, we’re happy to hear that Butker has saved his best work against teams that we hate the most.

Butker has now converted 16 of 19 attempts on the season for the Chiefs.
