As the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys prepare to battle it out in Week 11, both sides will be without a considerable amount of talent, but the Cowboys in particular are hurting quite a bit. Between players who are set to sit out today as an inactive entry or on injured reserve, some very important players are going to be on the sidelines instead of on the field in this highly-anticipated non-conference showdown.

The Cowboys were already down two of their top pass rushers coming into the game with Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory both on injured reserve. Earlier this week, the team also placed four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper on the COVID reserve list.

Then on Sunday, reports emerged that seven-time Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith would not be made available despite re-joining the team’s practice sessions this week as a bone spur in his ankle is keeping him from being able to play.

Here are the inactive players for Chiefs vs. Cowboys.

As for the Chiefs, they are still without both Mike Remmers (on injured reserve) and Lucas Niang at right tackle, meaning they will once again go with their fourth (likely) option in Andrew Wylie. (We’re assuming Kyle Long would be out there if he was healthy as well.) Wylie held things down effectively last week in his first start outside, but he’s much more comfortable in the interior and the Chiefs are just trying to hold things together until Niang can come back.

The good news for the Chiefs on Sunday is that Tyrann Mathieu, L’Jarius Sneed, and Armani Watts were all questionable entering the game, but all three have avoided being inactive.

The Chiefs are entering their bye week after they play on Sunday, which should be good news for a lot of players dealing with lingering injuries.

Here are the inactive players for Kansas City heading into Week 11:

  • Lucas Niang, right tackle
  •  Khalen Saunders, defensive lineman
  • Deandre Baker, cornerback
  • Derrick Gore, running back
  • Shane Buechele, quarterback

As for the Cowboys, here are their inactive players:

  • Tyron Smith, left tackle
  • Kelvin Joseph, cornerback
  • Nahshon Wright, cornerbackl
  • Simi Fehoko, wideout
  • Israel Mukuamu, safety
  • Will Grier, quarterback

The Cowboys and Chiefs kick off at Arrowhead Stadium at 3:25 p.m. C.T.
