Kenny Golladay

The New York Giants signed Kenny Golladay to a healthy four-year deal this offseason worth up to $72 million as part of their overall effort to completely remake their wide receiver depth and give quarterback Daniel Jones a proper array of weapons. We’ve already discussed the addition of Toney in the draft, but the signing of Golladay was supposed to provide the offense a cornerstone in the passing game.

Seven weeks into his first season with the team, the returns have been less than stellar as Golladay has been dealing with myriad injuries since he arrived in the Big Apple. He missed the bulk of training camp with a hamstring injury, which meant any vision of preseason chemistry disappeared quickly. Then just as Golladay looked like he was really finding his stride in Jason Garrett’s offense—with a 6 catch, 116 yard performance in Week 4—he suffered a knee injury the following week and has been out since.

Golladay was originally believed to miss 1-2 weeks, but this will be the third game he’s missed in a row since also sitting out much of that Week 5 contest, which means he’ll have been out for the better part of a month after Monday Night Football. That’s a major hit for the Giants offense and significantly weakens their ability to keep up with K.C. if the Chiefs have their swagger back this week.
