KC Chiefs vs Giants: Top prop bets to make for NFL Week 8
By Matt Conner
With the NFL’s Week 8 coming into view after opening up on Thursday night between the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals, it’s time to prepare your wagers for a busy Sunday slate.
The other bookend coming into the weekend is going to be the Kansas City Chiefs’ upcoming game against the New York Giants at Arrowhead on Monday night. For the Giants, it’s a chance to put together consecutive wins for the first time this season, and they should be more confident than ever this season after taking care of the Carolina Panthers in Week 7 by a final score of 25-3.
The Chiefs are coming off such an embarrassing defeat themselves in Week 8 in a 27-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs are hoping to turn things around in Week 8 against their third NFC East foe this season. They’ve already beaten the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team, but can they make it three for three? If not, all hell is going to break loose in Chiefs Kingdom.
KC Chiefs: 3 best prop bets for Week 8
Whether they win or lose is independent of whether or not you win or lose as a bettor. Check out these three prop bets we think are the best to take on Monday Night Football. All odds listed come courtesy of WynnBET
1. Daniel Jones – Touchdowns (1.5)
Daniel Jones has shown some better decision-making and maturity in 2021 with limited weapons due to myriad injuries, but you can’t ignore the statistics coming into Week 8. Jones has only 5 touchdown passes on the season in seven starts, with only a single game of 2 or more (during a Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints).
Even in a losing effort, it’s not as if Jones is tasked with moving the chains by heaving the ball downfield. The Giants aren’t even getting garbage time stats for their young quarterback, so it’s hard to picture that changing much against the Chiefs.
For all their defensive woes, the Chiefs’ defense is on notice going forward after hearing loads of criticism. The Giants are the perfect team on which to tee off, and for that reason, we’re taking the under on total touchdowns here given that Jones has done so once this season. Opposing quarterbacks have enjoyed big days against the Chiefs all season long, but until we see Jones’ ability to break out statistically, we’re going with the under here.
Pick: Under (-140)
