Chiefs Mock Draft: 5 first-round targets for Kansas City
Jordan Davis, IDL, Georgia
Georgia finds themselves featured again on this list with interior defensive lineman Jordan Davis. There is a reason they are the best team in college right now, and that is because of their supremely talented defense. That defense that looks to give the Bulldogs a National Championship is lead by senior Jordan Davis. Deciding to not go to the draft last year, Davis has only seen his stock grow to become a near guaranteed first rounder as a non pass rusher.
Davis’ performance so far this year has him receiving high praise. The talk of a potential Heisman candidacy for Davis has begun due to how he has led Georgia this season. Davis has played in such a dominant fashion, in a recent mock draft by PFF’s Trevor Sikkema, Sikkema stated, “This guy plays like Thanos”. His 6’6 340 pound frame could make him seem like Thanos to many college lineman and potentially NFL lineman
. Looking at everything, the only thing that keeps Davis away from the top of the first round is the fact he plays as mostly a nose tackle, not a position thought of as a high value. The Chiefs’ system may not support a nose tackle but that won’t stand in the way of Davis’ potential. As one of the best run stuffers and physical presences in the draft, Davis alongside Chris Jones could make opposition interior offensive lineman shiver if the Chiefs were to run the two together inside.
