Chiefs Mock Draft: 5 first-round targets for Kansas City
The Kansas City Chiefs are looking worse than they have in years after their 27-3 loss to the Titans. As the organization looks to find ways to improve their hopes for this season, you can’t help but think of how this team could improve in the monumental 2022 offseason. With big decisions on signing or releasing big name players, cheap and productive players will be needed to help the Chiefs for next season.
Success in the 2022 NFL Draft is a necessity for the Chiefs to make a comeback to expectations as Super Bowl contenders. The results from the 2021 NFL Draft have been promising, with Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, and Nick Bolton already showing potential. Similar results in the next draft can help form a young core for the Chiefs to help grow with the stars already on the team.

This year’s draft seems to be lined up with defensive talent all around the first round, which should be the only players the Chiefs should look to draft on Day 1.
Looking at players projected near the middle of the first round, there are some targets to look at early on in the process.
