The Kansas City Chiefs have the worst defense in the NFL and unfortunately, help is not on the way.

The Chiefs released their final injury report of the week yesterday and DT Chirs Jones is ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team.

Here is the rest of the good/bad news for the Chiefs:

Anthony Hitchens (knee) is Questionable

Hitch is probably going to play unless he has a setback. He was a DNP on Wednesday, limited on Thursday, and participated fully on Friday. As long as he is feeling good during warmups on Sunday, expect him to be on the field.

Charvarius Ward (quad) is Out

The Chiefs will once again be without Ward in the secondary. Bummer.

Blake Bell (back) is Out

No Bell this week. It will be interesting to see if rookie Noah Gray gets a little more run with Bell sidelined. We could also see a few more snaps for Jody Fortson.

Tyreek Hill (quad) is Questionable

Hill was a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday and was limited on Friday. Andy Reid told the media that Hill looked good on Friday so that sounds like a good sign his limited participation was simply precautionary. He will likely test things out during warmups but I expect he will play.

Joe Thuney (broken hand) is Questionable

Joe is a beast. He played most of the Bills game with a broken hand and despite being a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday, he was a full participant on Friday. Thuney will likely play but will have a cast on his hand.

No other players have injury designations.

While it is not ideal for the Chiefs to be without two of their best defensive players in Ward and Jones, they still should be able to get the job done against Washington. The Chiefs are simply a more talented football team (even though they aren’t playing like it) than Washington. Still, this is the NFL and if the Chiefs let their guard down, we could be in for an ugly season.

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
