Glimpses of the mismatches to come

While we won’t likely see a regular diet of Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Josh Gordon all on the field at the same time on Sunday (along with others like Mecole Hardman or Jody Fortson), even those brief glimpses offered up by the Chiefs in limited reps for Gordon should be enough make us excited for just how good this offense is going to look as the season goes on.

Gordon is a giant receiver who is chiseled from head to toe. He’s 6’3, 225 lbs and towers over almost every defensive back in the game. Given the way he can go up and get the ball and/or make the contested catch. Our friend Pete Sweeney said it best.

It will be very exciting the first time that Gordon is able to leverage the one-on-one matchups he gets to his advantage. Given the amount of attention placed upon Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, teams are likely going to treat Gordon as someone who has to prove he can still beat defenders, at least for the next few games. If he’s able to do just that, the Chiefs are going to take this offense to the next level.
