At the end of the day, a win is a win, right? So when we look back on the regular season from 2021, in a way, we’re just glad to see the K.C. Chiefs walk away from their date against the Philadelphia Eagles with a win on Sunday afternoon.

However, a lot of us were feeling mixed emotions after Week 4, given the state of things on defense. The Chiefs put up an incredible display of fireworks on offense to the tune of nearly 200 yards from Tyreek Hill and 5 passing touchdowns from Patrick Mahomes.

However, the defense struggled to stop the Eagles all day and Jalen Hurts and company nearly kept pace with the Chiefs on such an efficient day.

While we all find the defensive miscommunication, the poor tackling, the lack of a pass rush, and the penalties concerning, there are also areas of growth on both sides of the ball that should have us talking as well.

If you’re looking for ways in which the Chiefs are getting better after the first few games in a season, these should have you excited. It’s a long year and a lot will change, and hopefully these areas are signs of better performances to come.
