Everyone on the Kansas City Chiefs would say the right thing if you asked them about their goals. They want a win against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. After losing two games in a row, especially against fellow AFC contenders, the Chiefs are hoping to balance out their winning record with a road win in Philly that would half the criticism of a porous defense and give them a confidence boost heading into a showdown with the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

While the standings are the main things that matter, the reality is that each game presents an opportunity for each player as well. That is definitely true for Sunday afternoon’s contest between the Chiefs and Eagles. In fact, it’s a key chance for a few players to really make a statement within an important and defined window.

While everyone on the roster has reason to play their best, there are five particular players who could really use a standout effort for reasons we’ll get into. Some are candidates on an offense that will grow even more crowded in the weeks to come. Others are on shaky ground on a defense that’s likely to demand future changes if things look bad again. But let’s begin with an emerging defensive end who is starting to make a name for himself on a team that desperate ly needs it.
