Well, Chiefs Kingdom, I am officially on the brink of panic. One game was fine, but two sloppy games? That’s too much. Too many turnovers, too many missed tackles, not enough push on the defensive line. There are a lot of issues, and it just makes me really nervous.

But, before I completely spiral out of control, let’s look around at the rest of the AFC West and gaze up (what?!?) at the top 3 teams.

Los Angeles Chargers

It is a really good thing I was driving back from the in-laws during this game and was only allowed to hear the devastation, not see it. I will say it got a little dangerous at times when bad plays happened. As an excitable person, let’s just say, there was probably too much swerving while I listened to the game.

The Chargers walked into Arrowhead and truly shocked the Chiefs. While I have maintained the Chargers are the second best team in the AFC West, they acted like they deserved to be on top. The Chiefs played a sloppy game and the Chargers capitalized which is exactly what good teams do. Justin Herbert is the real deal. He is a great quarterback that is playing smart. He is surrounded by weapons in Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, not to mention Austin Ekeler out of the backfield.

The Chiefs secondary could do nothing to shut down Mike Williams and Keenan Allen made some incredible contested catches. It really shows the value of a true WR2…

I still think the Chargers make the playoffs as a wild card team and the Chiefs win the AFC West, but this game certainly made that a bigger question. The one thing that has been impressive is that the Chargers aren’t “Charger-ing” like normal. Come on! I just want one signature Charger loss!

As far as injuries for the Chargers go…

I mean, come on. Also, Joey Bosa’s ankle appears to be ok given how much he was wrecking Lucas Niang. Well done, Chargers. You may have finally overcome your curse.

Next week is a big one. The 2-1 Chargers host the 3-0 Raiders on Monday Night. Honestly, I’m really excited to see this matchup. Both quarterbacks are playing really good football and this is a good ol’ AFC West rivalry. I would love for these two to beat up on each other a little bit. I think the Chargers can pull it out, but it will be a close one.
