Loser: Frank Clark

There were concerns about Kansas City’s defense after their Week 1 performance against Cleveland, but their struggles could, at least in part, be attributed to the absence of several key players. Mathieu clearly made an impact on his return in week two. However, Frank Clark did not.

It was hoped Clark would play a key role in improving the Chiefs’ pass rush, but he was a non-factor for much of the game. Clark had two tackles and no sacks, while the Ravens averaged over six yard per carry as they ran the ball down Kansas City’s throat.

Clark did make one good play, stuffing running back Latavius Murray for a four-yard loss on a play in the third quarter, but one tackle for loss isn’t a big enough impact for one of the stars on defense.

Clark was by no means the only player to struggle on defense. Aside from Mathieu, nobody on that side of the ball could honestly say they had a good game. But after a tough campaign last season and with that huge contract hanging over his head, Clark has a lot to prove to show he is worth it, and things did not start well.

Of course, this is only one game, but Chiefs fans will be wanting to see Clark make an impact pretty darn soon.
