As the K.C. Chiefs prepare to visit the Baltimore Ravens, it’s a tale of two franchises at this point—with the sort of dueling momentum that would make for a good drama, if set to the right music.

The Ravens have weathered just about the most frustrating preseason and first official week that a team can handle. The team’s injury list is about as long as a season-ending list and the news keeps getting worse with each new week. Earlier this week, the team found out Ronnie Stanley would be out for some time and he wasn’t the only loss. It was a stomach punch for a team that was already shocked in overtime by the Raiders to start the season.

As for the Chiefs, they’re visiting town with all the positive momentum a franchise could want. They engineered an incredible comeback against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 at home despite missing a few key players on defense. Now they have all those faces back and can put away another solid contender in the AFC with a win on Sunday night—especially one they’ve beaten on four straight occasions dating back to 2015.

How will the Ravens respond to adversity in another primetime matchup on a slightly shorter week? How will the Chiefs handle themselves knowing that the Ravens are already so beat down? Can Lamar Jackson come up with enough heroics to shock the Chiefs and the rest of the NFL? That’s all part of the drama for Sunday Night Football.

Best Chiefs Bets Week 2

With so many star players to watch in a primetime game on Sunday evening, it’s the ideal time to have some fun and make some friendly wagers to make the contest even more interesting. Here are our some of our favorite bets.

1. Lamar Jackson – Passing Attempts (20.5)

Right now, according to WynnBET, the over/under for Jackson is set at 32.5 passing attempts. Jackson is 0-3 in his career against the Chiefs and he’s thrown 24 times, 43 times, and then 28 times in his latest game. It makes sense for the Ravens to want to stick to the ground game as much as they can, even as they’re hurting along the offensive front and in the backfield. As for the Chiefs, they’re going to ask Jackson to beat them through the air until he can prove otherwise.

Even if Jackson airs it out a bit more than normal, he’s still not likely to reach that 32.5 total, so we’d take the under here knowing history is on our side.

2. Lamar Jackson – Rushing Yards (70.5)

On the flip side of everything we’ve been talking about, Lamar Jackson as a rusher makes a lot of sense against a Chiefs team that really struggled to stop the run last week, which was a continuation of last year’s struggles as well. Frank Clark’s return to the lineup will make a difference, but the Chiefs simply aren’t great at slowing the run and until they do, Jackson seems like a decent bet to go over the line set at 70.5 rushing yards for him.

Pick: Over (-120)

3. Mecole Hardman – Receiving Yards (36.5)

We have no idea why the bar is set so low for Mecole Hardman’s expected receiving yards coming into this game, but we’d run to the clerks to submit our bet the over. Hardman has 178 yards in two career games against the Ravens, so with an over/under line here at 36.5, Hardman is looking at a single big play to make it happen. The Chiefs third-year wideout might not get many touches, but he’s a big-play threat who has torched the Ravens every time. That’s a best bet here.

Pick: Over (-115)
