Just how long can the injury list get for the Baltimore Ravens. After dealing with several ailing players in the preseason, the team continues to get bad news from players at multiple positions.

Every year, one NFL franchise seems to find itself cursed by the sporting gods above. Before a season even begins, the bad news begins to pour in. Perhaps someone gets in legal trouble. Then someone else has a weird injury from some freak accident at home. From there it cascades into numerous injuries and issues that weigh down the season and cause everyone involved to want to just flip forward the calendar.

This year’s candidate might just be the Ravens. The team opened the year with a stomach punch of a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football, and they must win against the K.C. Chiefs on Sunday evening in order to avoid being 0-2 before ever playing a single team in their division—which, by the way, looks seriously competitive.

As for injuries, the team already has a season’s worth of players on injured reserve, including multiple stars. The team has 14 players on IR at present including six starters. At running back alone, they’ve already lost J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill (who was released) before the year even began. Marcus Peters? Out. L.J. Fort? Gone, too. Rashod Bateman? Yep. Miles Boykin? Him, too.

If that’s not enough, now as the Chiefs stand waiting to visit them at home, the Ravens are dealing with even more serious injury concerns before another primetime matchup. Let’s get a closer look at who is hurting and how the Ravens can deal with the concerns.
